Defining Naturopathy

Homeopathy
CarolAnn Bailey-Lloyd asked:

While some of us may be aware of the term “naturopathy,” not all of us completely understand the origins and foundations of this relatively unique system of integrated healthcare. Historically, naturopathic medicine was founded on many of the philosophies and teachings of Hippocrates; but the actual development of naturopathy was begun by Dr. Thomas Allinson during the late 1800’s in Scotland. After that time, naturopathy expanded to various regions of the world; including North America.

Defined by the principles of the Greek philosopher Hippocrates, naturopathy is founded on the healing powers of nature, and its inherent healing abilities. Seeking to identify and treat underlying causes of dis-ease, naturopathic medicine believes in the principle of first doing no harm, and treating the whole person with respect to that person’s whole being.

What exactly is naturopathy?

Both complementary and alternative medicine in nature, naturopathic medicine entails a large assortment of natural healing modalities including Ayurveda, hydrotherapy, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, nutritional counseling and exercise therapies, homeopathy, colonic irrigation, orthomolecular medicine, energy medicine, and other healing arts.

Doctors of naturopathy focus on holistic health treatments for patients. Treating individuals as a “whole” person (including mind, body, and spirit), naturopathic medicine therapies are individually tailored to meet particular health needs. While some patients may receive acupuncture therapy, others may receive a combination of natural health treatments to remedy specific health conditions.

Though naturopathy, in itself, is typically non-invasive; some holistic health practitioners may sometimes facilitate conventional diagnostic tools such as radiology or blood tests to determine which treatment regimen is best for the patient. (Naturopathic doctors who facilitate such diagnostics have been especially trained in these procedures.)

Today, naturopathic medicine doctors (NDs) are sometimes considered primary care providers; however, these specialized physicians are cross-trained in both conventional medicine practices and natural health medicine. Presently, four Provinces in Canada, 14 States, and the District of Columbia all have specific educational and licensing requirements for doctors of naturopathy.

The Law of Cure: Understanding the Basics

Homeopathy
Jimmy Cox asked:

All natural forces are based upon law. These laws do not operate in a limited field, but are universal. To illustrate, the law of gravitation is not limited in its scope to the earth, but its influence extends throughout the universe.

Hahnemann, by his fine observation and the inductive method of reasoning, became convinced of the law of cure, similia similibus curentur, and embraced it and declared it to be universal, a basic law of therapeutics.

If there is any general law of cure, that law must express some relationship between the medicine and the disease. To be of any practical use such a relationship must be exhibited, and we must be able to demonstrate such a relation between a disease and its remedy that any examination of the former shall determine the latter.

It is the characteristic of disease to produce certain phenomena which are not observable in perfect health. This is true whether the changes are functional or structural; what we recognise as symptoms are all that can be known of the disease. It is only through the observation of these expressions that we can make any use of the law of cure, and there can be no general consideration of the rule of cure, unless it comprises a consideration of symptoms as one of the necessary elements.

One might say that a comprehension of the symptoms of a given case was one of the primary factors, and in so far as one comprehends the expression of disease in these phenomena is one equipped to follow the law of cure in any particular case. Symptoms are the only representative expression of the diseased state. We include sensations as expressed by the patient, the appearances in all parts of the body, the varied circumstances under which these symptoms were recorded, and the varied grouping of these symptoms, in any consideration of the case.

When a symptom is noted under certain circumstances and not under others, this obvious relation between the symptom and its related circumstance is in itself a symptom, or rather, a part of the symptom, the sensation being quite incomplete without the expressed relationship of circumstance. Very often the concomitant of circumstance is of greater importance to the whole case than the expressed sensation, but the sensation is much more frequently expressed by the patient.

Two or more symptoms may appear together, or synchronize with each other, so frequently that they are really one symptom and must be considered as such in our analysis.

A law of cure must represent some relation between the properties of a disease and the medicinal qualities of a drug; or in other words, we must have some concept of the character of the drug’s action on the living body that will interpret the law of cure in the action of disease.

This character of the drug is represented, not by a single effect, but by a group of effects. This group of effects is the only representation we have or can have of the medicinal character of a drug on the living body, and since these same effects are found in disease states, these effects are the only relationship that can be established between the medicinal effects of a drug and disease. There can be no law of cure unless it expresses some definite relation between these two groups, or classes.

The homoeopathic law establishes a definite relation, not only between proved drugs and known diseases, but between all the unexplored medical wealth and the undeveloped requirements of sickness. Like the law of gravitation, the law of cure as taught by Hahnemann is not, and cannot be, limited to a small group of conditions; the limitations rest entirely with our ignorance. Hahnemann and his followers constitute the only group of medical philosophers who have always been true to the inductive method of reasoning, based upon known facts, they have established this law of therapeutics.

Thus the law of cure can be seen as a crucial concept in the discipline of homeopathy, and a necessity in understanding disease and remedy.

How To Get Started With Homeopathy Crohns Relief

Homeopathy
Sharon Dobson asked:

Choosing Crohn’s-friendly foods isn’t the only way a sufferer can improve their condition, other treatments such as homeopathy crohns relief may also be beneficial for some. Homeopathy is a unique type of remedy that treats the person as a whole. Therefore, the type of remedy that is prescribed is based on a person’s mental and physical wellbeing. The treatments administered focus on ridding the person of their specific problems. Thus, no two people will be provided with the same treatments.

In order to receive proper homeopathy crohns treatment, you will need to visit a qualified homeopath to have your condition properly accessed. That being said, the following are five examples of homeopathic treatments you may be prescribed based on your symptoms:

Note: The vast majority of homeopathy treatments are derived from natural substances that come from minerals, plants and animals. A remedy is made by diluting the natural substance through a specific process without destroying its healing properties. Most remedies are extremely diluted, taken orally, and are available in tablet, pellet or liquid forms.

Argentum nitricum: This homeopathic crohns remedy is administered to those who suffer from an upset digestive system that is also accompanied by nervousness and/or anxiety. Such a person often experiences symptoms of nausea, bloating, tummy rumbling, flatulence and sudden, intense diarrhea with a greenish hue. Diarrhea may suddenly occur after eating excessive salty or sweet foods or directly after ingesting water. In addition, a person prescribed this treatment is also likely to be impulsive, expressive, and suffer from claustrophobia issues.

Asafetida: This homeopathy crohns substance is given to those who feel as if their entire digestive tract is constricted. The individual may feel as though they have a lump moving upwards from the stomach or have a bubble in their throat. Their abdomen generally feels inflated; however, the person has difficulty passing gas for relief. This person likely has painful bouts of constipation, explosive cases of diarrhea, and possibly regurgitates small amounts of food. This individual may have strong emotions and is quick to become worked up.

Colocynthis: An individual who is experiencing sharp pains and cramping in their abdomen or pubic bone that urges them to bend double or lie down is often prescribed this homeopathy crohns. The pain that is experienced usually worsens before diarrhea passes, after drinking water or eating fruit. Many of these symptoms are also triggered by emotions, especially anger.

Lilium tigrinum: This is usually administered to a person who is constipated throughout the day but is plagued with sudden diarrhea the next morning. This person tends to feel as if there is a lump in their rectum that feels worse when they stand. This person may develop haemorrhoids, and experience tightening in their chest. The symptoms are often triggered by strong emotions, and excitement that often accelerates into feelings of irritability or rage.

Podophyllum: This remedy for homeopathy crohns is often prescribed to those who suffer from abdominal pain and cramping, and have a sinking, empty feeling in their gut that is followed by very loose, and watery, foul-smelling diarrhea. The person may also experience constipation or bowel movements that feature pasty, yellow stool with mucus. This individual tends to feel worse in the early hours of morning and later feel weak, faint or headachy afterwards. An individual who suffers from these symptoms may also experience stiff joints and muscles.

Homeopathy crohns is generally safe when administered by a professional, especially remedies that have been extremely diluted. However, it is not uncommon for a person to feel worse during treatment. This usually only occurs for a brief period and is usually not uncommon. However, extreme or prolonged side effects such as worsening or no relief from symptoms should be brought to the attention of your health care provider.

Although homeopathy may be an ideal complimentary form of treatment for Crohn’s, it should not replace a doctor’s advice. In addition, if you have a serious case of Crohn’s with persistent symptoms, you may require medical aid for relief and to get the condition under control. Therefore, make sure you consult your health care provider about homeopathy crohns treatments before you begin.

Schools of Homeopathic Medicine

Homeopathy
CarolAnn Bailey-Lloyd asked:

Whether you’re a professional medical provider or a student fresh out of college, enrolling in any one of the schools of homeopathic medicine can certainly improve your range of healthcare services. Having the knowledge and training to offer natural healthcare remedies from animal, mineral and plant sources, homeopathic practitioners believe in healing the “whole” person and do not merely treat dis-ease.

Though the practice declined in the mid 1900’s, the renewed interest in alternative and complementary medicine has sparked a growing demand for health alternatives like homeopathy. So after you’ve explored the field and you’ve decided to acquire comprehensive training at one of the growing number of schools of homeopathic medicine, be prepared to commit three to four years to achieve your certification in homeopathy.

Earning a degree from your local college or university is recommended. As with most medical programs, schools of homeopathic medicine typically require prerequisite education from an accredited college or university.

First-year studies at schools of homeopathic medicine include in-depth training in anatomy, physiology, principles and philosophies of homeopathy, acute therapeutics (homeopathy in first-aid), Materia Medica, and repertory (index of symptoms and associated remedies), among others.

The second year of instruction at schools of homeopathic medicine offer advanced studies in the philosophy of homeopathy, Materia Medica, pathology, and clinical training.

Students who are in their third (and often final) year at schools of homeopathic medicine gain more advanced clinical training, as well as in-depth education in medical sciences, case management, therapeutics, practice management, and more. Upon successful completion, graduates receive certification and may work in fields of medical research, teaching, or as professional practitioners.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in learning more about this or other alternative medicine programs, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, naturopathy, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Homeopathy For Health

Homeopathy
Maurice Tate asked:

There are two main healing concepts that are the cornerstone of Homoeopathy’s effectiveness: The Law of Similars (’like cures like”) - means matching the symptom picture of an illness or injury to the symptom picture of the homoeopathic remedy. A substance that causes certain symptoms can cure them if used in tiny amounts prepared in a certain way. A remedy for heart palpitations uses coffee, which can cause them, and the cure for insect stings is made from bees. The Law of Minimum Dose - means using as little of the remedy as possible to stimulate the body’s own healing mechanism. Homoeopaths give one or two doses of a remedy and then wait to see what relief it brings. Giving the body more than it needs can be a backward step towards cure.

Homoeopathic remedies are diluted so many thousands of times that, according to some scientists, there can’t be anything of the original substance left in the pills or drops people take. Yet homoeopaths understand that the more the remedy is diluted, the stronger and more effective it becomes.

Homoeopathy is a wholistic system of medicine - i.e. it treats the whole person not just the disease symptoms. Its remedies are diluted so many thousands of times that, according to some scientists, there can’t be anything of them left in the pills or drops people take. Yet homoeopaths understand that the more the remedy is diluted, the stronger and more effective it becomes. Homoeopathy is an energetic system of medicine like Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. These systems of medicine appreciate that the human body is made of two different systems - physical systems and energy systems. Like all matter in the Universe, humans are made of both matter and energy. Orthodox medicine treats the physical body whilst Homoeopathy is able to treat both the physical body as well as the energetic part of us that we can’t actually see.

What is Homoeopathy?

Homoeopathy is a natural pharmaceutical science based on the principle of “like cures like”. If a patient comes with a headache of a particular type they are given a small dose of an agent known to cause a similar type of headache. So the two cancel out.

Homoeopathy views symptoms as the body’s own attempts at self healing and that any suppression of these symptoms (such as conventional drugs) will drive the disease or imbalance further into the body, only to emerge as a different set of symptoms or problems at a later date. Homoeopathy treats the person and not the disease - it is an individualised system of medicine that aims to treat the cause of disease and not just the symptoms.

What are homoeopathic medicines made of?

They are derived from plant, animal and mineral sources that are diluted many hundreds of times. These extremely dilute potencies stimulate the body’s own defense system and allow the body to heal itself. The remedies are very safe, gentle and do not have toxic side effects. Homoeopathic remedies can be taken simultaneously with conventional medications and are safe to use on infants, pregnant mothers, the elderly and the chronically ill.

Can Homoeopathy treat all health problems?

Generally speaking yes. It is a system of medicine that stands alone, just like Chinese medicine. There may be times when surgery or conventional medication is necessary but this is rare. Homoeopathy has the potential to cure chronic diseases and often does.

Homoeopathy is widely practised in Europe, the U.S., Pakistan, Brazil, South Africa and is very popular in New Zealand. Market research in the U.S. shows a 25-50% per year increase in the sale of homoeopathics over the last 10 years

Plant Spirit Shamanism: the Doctrine of Signatures

Homeopathy
Ross Heaven asked:

There is one concept that underlies all work in plant spirit shamanism, which is that nature itself will tell you what they are used for and its well-stocked medicine cabinet is right in front of us every day.

Shamans recognise the spiritual powers and qualities of plants in many ways: the colours of their flowers, their perfumes, the shape and form of their leaves, where they are growing and in what ways, the moods they evoke, and the wider geographical, cultural, or mythological landscapes they occupy.

Although such considerations do not play a role in modern medicine (which does not believe in these spiritual powers at all), it was not long ago that we, too, had an understanding that nature is alive and is talking to us in these ways.

The 16th century alchemist and philosopher, Aureolus Phillippus Theophrastus Bombast – better known as Paracelsus - introduced this notion in his Doctrine of Signatures treatise, which proposed that the Creator has placed his seal on plants to indicate their medicinal uses. This was not just idle speculation on the part of Paracelsus; nature itself taught him the truth of it.

“Seeking for truth”, he wrote, “I considered within myself that if there were no teachers of medicine in this world, how would I set to learn the art? Not otherwise than in the great book of nature, written with the finger of God…. The light of nature, and no apothecary’s lamp directed me on my way”.

In his ‘book of nature’, Paracelsus noticed how the qualities of plants so often reflect their appearance – that the seeds of skullcap, for example, resemble small skulls and, it transpires, are effective at curing headache. Similarly, the hollow stalk of garlic resembles the windpipe and is used for throat and bronchial problems. By the same token, willow grows in damp places and will heal rheumatic conditions, caused by a build-up of fluid on the joints.

In fact, as Thomas Bartram remarks in his Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine, “Examples are numerous. It is a curiosity that many liver remedies have yellow flowers, those for the nerves (blue), for the spleen (orange), for the bones (white). Serpentaria (Rauwolfia) resembles a snake and is an old traditional remedy for snake-bite. Herbalism confirms the Doctrine of Signatures”.

Underlying Paracelsus’ treatise was the premise that nature was itself a living organism which must be considered an expression of “the One Life”, and that man and the universe are the same in their essential nature; an idea that was echoed (some would say proved) by Dr James Lovelock, 500 years after Paracelsus, in his Gaia hypothesis on the unity of life. Gaia shows, for example, that the Earth maintains relatively constant conditions in temperature and atmosphere, etc, which defy rational observations and predictive measurements of what ‘ought’ to happen. It is, rather, as if the Earth is a living organism, which consciously takes care of itself.

Because of this “One Life”, Paracelsus held that the inner nature of plants may be discovered by their outer forms or ‘signatures’. He applied this principle to food as well as medicine, remarking that “it is not in the quantity of food but in its quality that resides the Spirit of Life” – a belief familiar to those who choose to eat organic food and share a common concern over Genetically Modified (GM) substitutes that lack ‘life force’, or spirit.

According to Paracelsus, then, the appearance of a plant is the gateway to its spirit or consciousness.

The doctrine of signatures, per se, is not something known to many indigenous shamans, but they understand the principles behind it well enough – that nature is alive, aware, and communicates with us. These principles are not regarded as fanciful at all, but practical and important enough that they can save lives.

I discovered how the doctrine of signatures operates in the Amazon, for example, during an experience with the jergon sacha plant reported by one jungle traveller, who came across this plant accidentally, when walking through the rainforest with the shaman Javier Arevalo, studying the properties of the plants.

“Javier queried why I always walked around with a machete. I jokingly replied ‘it’s against anacondas!’

“He paused for a moment then beckoned me to follow him. A few minutes later we came across this tall-stemmed plant. This was jergon sacha, he said. Javier cut a stem from it and proceeded to whip me around the body, paying most attention to my legs and the soles of my feet. He then said ‘no more problems, you are protected against snakes’. I asked him why this plant was used in this way, and he indicated the pattern on the stem which looks identical to the snakes in the forest.

“Later, on a hunch, we started to investigate this plant and discovered some amazing correspondences. Jergon sacha is widely used as an antidote to snake venom in the Amazon. Referring back to the concept of ‘signatures’, this plant is a clear demonstration of the outer form indicating the inner qualities. Its use is directly related to its physical appearance, the tall stem closely resembling the venomous pit viper known as the Jararaca or Bushmaster, which is indigenous to the Amazon. The Bushmaster, unlike most other snakes, is aggressive and will defend its territory. It can strike in the blink of an eye from 15 feet and is rightly feared and respected.

“Remarkably, jergon sacha does turn out to be a highly effective antidote for the bite when its large root tuber is chopped up and immersed in cold water and then drunk, or placed in a banana leaf and used as a poultice wrapped around the wound.

“Of course, the pragmatic statement here is that it is not possible to store anti-venom vaccines in the rainforest, where there is no refrigeration, so this plant has exceptional life-saving importance. This importance is recognised because the plant itself tells the shaman of its use through the markings on its stems”.

Another illustration of the connection between the form and function of a plant is provided by Artiduro Aro Cardenas, a shaman who works with plant perfumes.

“If the smell of a flower has the power to attract insects or birds, it can also attract luck to people”, he says.

Artiduro makes fragrances which attract customers into a shop, for example (“You just rub the perfume on your face and it brings in the people to your business”), as well as perfumes for love, and others for “flourishing” – growth and success. “I watch what the plant does and if it is attractive [i.e. has the power to attract], I use it to attract. Plants are the forces of nature”, he says. “All I do is give these forces direction”.

Today’s system of homeopathy is also based on the principle of a sentient universe known through its signatures. Hippocrates spoke of a universal law of similia similibus curentur (‘like cures like’), and the modern pioneer of homeopathy, Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), showed, through his experiments, that plants contain a healing ‘essence’ or spiritual quality that has an affinity with human beings and acts on them according to the nature of the illness they are suffering from.

No-one really knows how homeopathy works, but the fact that it does seems clear. In 1836, for example, when cholera destroyed many Austrian cities and orthodox medicine was unable to stop its spread, the government turned in desperation to homeopathy and built a quick and crude hospital in which patients could be treated.

The results spoke for themselves: while orthodox hospitals reported deaths in more than 70% of cases, the homeopathic hospital recorded a death rate of just 30%.

Shamans have a simple explanation for this: the homeopathic doctors appealed to and engaged the spirit of the plants to intervene on behalf of their patients and the spirits answered their call.

My Journey in Homeopathy

Homeopathy
thom namaya asked:

“Absurd!” Was probably my first reaction when I heard about this strange sounding word homeopathy? As a Family Nurse Practitioner with a graduate degree in Family Medicine and a good background in science, the concept of a dilute substance, so dilute that you couldn’t even measure it, curing someone of an illness seemed counter-intuitive. More counter-intuitive is that the more dilute the substance was the more powerful it was.

Though I am the most skeptical person I know, I couldn’t believe that homeopathy worked, even when I saw it happening. The first encounter was with a simple flu remedy Oscillo. Bang! A flu that had lasted for two weeks with my patients and colleagues was gone in 24 hours? Then as I started to give simple homeopathic remedies for allergies and colds, I noticed that my patients got better, without pharmaceuticals, and I began to see the downside effect of prescriptions. Over the years, as I gradually put my prescription pad farther and farther from sight, and intensively studied homeopathy; I’ve been astonished to see what homeopathy can do. Patients with Crohn’s disease so severe that they were going to have their colon removed were helped by homeopathy. Debilitating depression that someone had for decades was lifted with a few doses of homeopathy; panic attacks that would keep someone housebound for weeks at a time were alleviated after hypnotherapy, where pharmaceuticals had failed to assist her. Crippling arthritis was dramatically improved with a course of homeopathy. Lifelong allergies have been lifted with changes in diet and a homeopathic remedy.

How is this possible? Is it placebo? No, it is not placebo, and we know this to be true from over 130 clinical trials reported in Lancet, Journal of Immunology, British Journal of Homeopathy, and other journals, that it is founded on very solid scientific principles. Homeopathy means simply “like cures like.” A like substance, similar to the disease itself is given to the patient. This like substance could be plant, mineral, or animal product. On a very simple level if you get stung by a bee or wasp, a dose of very dilute Apis, made from a bee, is given to a patient, and the severe burning stinging and inflammation is gone in a matter of moments. Yet, there is probably not even one molecule of the original substance left. That is the genius of homeopathy, the dose you cannot even measure, has cured the patient. I’ve had patients with systemic arthritis and chronic joint inflammation healed with a treatment of Apis. A good homeopathy will match your physical and emotional symptoms in a very thorough workup, to one of more than five thousand known homeopathic remedies, and assist you in finding a cure for your condition.

Having treated thousands of patients over the years for simple fevers to complex illnesses; I am still surprised by this medicine. While allopathic medicine or western medicine works on suppressing symptoms and often times creating far more harm than good, homeopathy works on removing the whole disease. I have found that pharmaceuticals are rarely needed for most illnesses; and in some instances never. For example, in the past seven years I have used an antibiotic once for an ear or upper respiratory infection. When I was an allopath, it would be common to write three prescriptions an hour for an antibiotic. Many times, simple herbs are more than adequate to treat infections, but a homeopathic remedy that gets to the root of the problem is often times the most powerful treatment.

It is like a splinter, a splinter in the skin will work its way to the surface and be expelled. A homeopathic remedy works in the same way, through this law of similars it helps the body to restore its own balance, and push the underlying disease out of the system.

It is not to say allopathic or western medicine is all bad. If you have a fractured leg you need to see an orthopedist, and then see a homeopath to help with the healing process. If you are having a heart attack, go to the Emergency Room. However, before you get to that stage of needing an Emergency Room work with a medically trained homeopath, this can often deter the need for an ER visit.

If you have had a condition or illness emotionally or physically, and you’re looking for an alternative besides pharmaceuticals or surgery, then consider homeopathy as the safe gentle way to healing. If your condition is not life threatening, then you should consult with a medically trained and nationally certified homeopath.

The foundation of health is joy and good living! Today start making some positive changes in your life…keep your vices to a few modest and well chosen ones, like eating lots of fresh organic vegetables and fruits and drinking a lot of water. Love well and live for the passion and joy in your life!

The Advantages of Using Homeopathic Software in Homeopathic Practice

Homeopathy
Peter Bezemek asked:

While homeopathy had been around for more than 200 years, a serious use of homeopathic software is a question of the last 20 years at maximum. Despite the massive advantages of using the homeopathic software, there is still a great number of homeopathic practitioners who don’t feel the need to invest their time and money into such kind of fancy.

The difference in practicing homeopathy in the modern days and a hundred years ago might not be obvious at first. Why should anyone waste their time learning to use a homeopathic software, if our predecessors could easily do without it? Or could they?

If you think about the invention of homeopathic repertory (such as Kent’s repertory, to name the most famous one, although it was not the first), you can clearly see the incentive to organize the growing amount of information, which was quickly outgrowing the limits of human capacity. Since they did not have computers at the time, the information was organized into rubrics and corresponding remedies and published as a book, which was a fantastic thing to do, because it greatly enhanced and simplified the tedious process of finding the matching remedy for the patient’s symptoms.

With repertories around, the life got easier for homeopaths, but still far from easy. Even with a repertory, the practitioner still needed to spend quite bit of time learning the structure of rubrics. Since repertory is basically a database of rubrics linked to remedies, its implementation in homeopathic software is pretty straightforward, with one essential difference – in homeopathic software, you DON’T need to learn the structure of the repertory before you can use it. With powerful search functions available in homeopathic softwares, you can start using ANY repertory right now!

With the ability to locate the matching rubrics quickly and easily (good homeopathic software should also implement the use of synonyms and cross-references), you can make your evaluation in a time span of several minutes, which leaves you a plenty of time to study the case using several approaches, peek into materia medica for confirmation etc. If you would have to do the same manually (without any homeopathic software), it would take you several hours to do it properly and that’s why very few practitioners do it. Experienced homeopaths who do not use any homeopathic software prescribe on keynotes or key symptoms for each remedy. But imagine this – even if you knew a hundred keynotes for hundred remedies (I am quite confident they usually know no more than twenty per remedy), you are still hopelessly far to encompass tens of thousands of symptoms available in modern repertories.

The conclusion is obvious: if a homeopathic practitioner does not use any homeopathic software, even with a phenomenal memory, they are putting the largest part of homeopathic knowledge away and utilizing just that tiny fraction they can master. What a waste.

With widespread use of many suppressing drugs pharmaceutical industry produces, the cure is more difficult to achieve than it was a hundred years ago. It is therefore even more essential to base our prescriptions on solid foundations and without limitations of oversimplification required by non-computerized approach.

Asthma Homeopathic Remedies – Asthma Homeopathy Treatment

Homeopathy
Ricky Lim asked:

Despite the numerous asthma homeopathic remedies available nowadays, it should still be treated with the proper guidance from the professionals who are knowledgeable and experienced on the actual application of treatments.

Absolutely, asthma homeopathic remedies can help relieve the difficulties of an asthma attack, but in certain cases that asthma attacks get worse, professional medical advice should be taken the soonest.

Worse cases of asthma are usually seen on the breathing and turning bluish lips of the patient. In some cases, the loss of consciousness is also a sign of severe asthma attack.

With the proper and strict guidance of professional homeopathic therapists, here are some asthma homeopathic remedies that any person can use in treating his asthma condition:

(1) Carbo Vegetabilis - this remedy is usually used during the actual attack of asthma when the person is feeling faint or weak. The person would say that he feels shallowness of his chest. Furthermore, continuous cough follows wherein difficulty in the air passage going to the lungs is experienced.

(2) Ipecacuanha - this remedy is applied to those asthma patients who suffer from coughing spasms resulting in vomiting or retching. It is also best for asthma that comes with mucus or phlegm in the breathing tubes.

(3) Chamomilla - this remedy is best for those who suffer from hard and irritating coughs when asthma attacks. The coughs usually occur when the person is exposed to certain air that is moving, or when anger or excited feelings are experienced by the person.

Nevertheless, not all asthma homeopathic remedies are recommended or advisable to patients with asthma. You will still need to determine what kind of asthma is present in that person before recommending any of these asthma homeopathic remedies.

If possible, take time to consult or discuss with the preferred doctor on the kind of asthma homeopathic remedy being recommended on the kind of asthma that you have you. In this way, the best course of treatment will then be applied on your condition.

Homeopathy Flourishing In India

Homeopathy
Sanjib Sarkar asked:

Homeopathy has been around 200 years and invented by Samuel Hannehman. Homeopathy was introduced in India by Dr. John Martin Honigberger from Transylvania in 1839. He was actually in Lahore to treat the maharaja’s horses who were suffering from leg ulcers. The maharaja was impressed with the results of this type of treatment. Maharaja Ranjit lated asked the homeopath to treat him for paralysis of vocal cords and oedema. The maharaja was quite satisfied with the treatment which cured his paralysis.

Homeopathy continued spreading in India since 1839. Every major city in India has pharmacies dispensing homeopathy medicine. Many states in India also have homeopathy colleges teaching this type of alternative medicine to prospective students. Currently there are 186 homeopathic medical colleges in India. 37 of these colleges are government run. The other colleges are privately run.

The Indian government created the Central Council Of Homeopathy which requires uniform education at the graduate level and diploma level in homeopathy. This has lead to standardized practice in India preventing unqualified homeopaths to prescribe medicine and treatments. Currently, there are over 300,000 homeopathic doctors practicing medicine in India.

Homeopathic medicine is significantly cheaper than conventional drugs. This makes this type of medicine more available to India’s population many of whom do not have access to prescription drugs. Homeopathy is the third most popular medicine in India after allopathy and ayurveda. Approximately, 10% of the population in India uses homeopathy. This makes India the largest consumer of homeopathy medicine in the world.

India has become the mecca of homeopathic research. There are over 37+ homeopathic research centers in India carrying out various types of clinical trials. The government helped form many of these reseach centers.

Some of this research includes Dr. Prasanta Banerji & Dr. Pratip Banerji scientific papers on brain cancer. This research was collaborated with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The study showed that Ruta 6C and Calcarea Phosphorica 3X helps to kill cancerous brain cells but does not damage normal brain cells or fuctions.

The Banerji family has also been successful in treating other type of cancers as well. Their clinics in Calcutta will see 1000 people per day. Their cancer success rate is between 30 to 40%.

Homeopathy is an accepted form of medicine by the Indian government. It is generally regarding in the same light as allopathic medicine. India is one of the few countries that generally accepts homeopathy.
